Two printers in one design - the CT-S800 and CT-S600 series have both top paper exit and front exit models in one printer range.

The CT-S801 model features a top paper exit - making ideal for retail applications where this is generally preferred.

The CT-S851 has a front paper exit making it the choice for hospitality applications where the protection offered by the SpillShield™ top cover means liquids dropping on to the top of the printer simply run off to one side and don't stop the printer's operation.

However, if your application needs both paper exit types, the printers can be simply mixed and matched without any problems as they use the same designs, interfaces and controls.

With a print speed of 300mm per second, the CT-S800 series is the first to break this barrier. The printer has the benefit of an internally integrated power supply which can be easily detached in order to fit the printer into even tighter point of sales environments.

The CT-S801 and CT-S851 are the industry’s first point-of-sale printers to feature an LCD display showing helpful and intuitive messages and also allows all the printer's settings to be configured quickly and easily.

In the event of an error, the LCD's backlight changes to red and shows a clear, simple message on how to fix the problem in the respective language of the user. This makes the printer much easier for cashiers to operate.

The soft-close system prevents the top cover from slamming shut, both for courtesy and to prevent injuries whilst replacing the paper roll.

The self retracting cutter translates into a high level of service friendliness. In the event of a cutter jam, all one has to do is lift the lever for the paper cover. The cutter self retracts automatically and no assistance is needed from a service technician. The cash register can be put back into operation once again without further delay.

No tools are needed to replace either the cutter or the thermal head. Thanks to an innovative snap-in system from Citizen, these modules can be removed and replaced once again by simply lifting two levers.

Interfacing options on the CT-S800 series are wide and varied with RS232C Serial, Parallel, Standard USB, USB with Hub, Ethernet and even Powered USB.

Drivers are available for a wide range of operating systems and versions including Windows XP, Vista and 7 (in both 32 and 64 bit), Java POS, OPOS and Linux CUPS.

The CT-S601 and CT-S651 printers have the same great features such as integrated power supply, self-retracting cutter and choice of top or front exits. They are designed for applications where speed is less critical printing at 200 mm per second and where the customer doesn't need the same level of feedback without the LCD panel.
