Print bar coded wristbands on demand with new Citizen printer

Citizen Systems Europe, the leading manufacturer of dot matrix, label and barcode printers, has launched a new high performance label printer, which has been developed to enable users in the hospitality sector to print bar coded wristbands on demand. As well as enabling proof of admission wristbands to be printed quickly, the new printer also makes pre-payment and upgrades simple, increasing profits considerably as a result.

In common with all the latest Citizen printers, the CLP-631 enables easy changing of printer media, offering users a great deal of flexibility;  for example, wristbands can be quickly swapped to enable different colours or formats to be used for different events. In addition, bar coded labels make it possible for payment to be taken upon entry for items such as food and drink, cutting queues and increasing ease of cash collection. Alternatively, admission levels can be upgraded on the door for sports and music events.

The CLP-631 printer is extremely fast, able to print a 300mm long wristband in just three seconds, saving users both time and money. Furthermore, in addition to 2-D barcodes that hold vital information such as access restrictions or the number of drinks pre-purchased, the new printer is ideal for printing photo-quality images on wristbands, opening up innovative branding opportunities.

The new machine features an internal power supply, standard parallel, serial and USB ports, internal Ethernet option and can be used with a wide range of standard and specialised media. It is also available with an optional auto-cutter and label peeler for even more convenient operation.

The label printer is designed to be used as either a stand-alone or networked device, offering excellent connectivity, is simple to setup and use and is available at an average end user price of around 10% less than competing machines. It is available through Citizen’s network of channel partners, has a two year warranty and is backed by full technical and aftersales support.
