Citizen Systems Europe, the leading manufacturer of high quality
dot matrix, label and barcode printers, has introduced its
latest Banner Printing System enabling florists to print completely
personalised messages onto ribbon banners, which can be used
for decorating bouquets of flowers and other gifts for any
occasion including Birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s
day and Mother’s day. By comparison with traditional
peelable and sticky letters, which have to be individually
stuck onto ribbons, the new system allows florists to save
considerable amounts of time, while dramatically improving
the overall image and quality of the banners. Perhaps
most importantly, the new printing system provides florists
with the opportunity to distinguish their products, while opening
up an alternative avenue for generating extra profit.
The new Banner Printing System can be used by florists, gift
shops and boutiques to print personalised messages
on coloured poly ribbon either two or four inches in width
using a wide range of coloured inks, from gold and silver
through to red and blue, allowing for almost any colour
combination to be achieved. Popular combinations
have been pink ribbon with red writing for Valentines day
messages, blue ribbon and gold lettering for Mother’s
Day and of course black ribbon and gold or silver lettering
for funeral work.
Using Citizen’s compact keyboard and CLP 621 printer,
the Banner System is completely stand-alone and requires no
computers or software to operate it. Furthermore, this
unique printing system is simple to use and can easily be operated
by users even with no computer experience or knowledge. Additionally,
the new system is compact and lightweight, enabling it to be
neatly located either under or on top of the sales counter. The
keyboard features a backlit screen so the system can be used
in places where lighting is limited, even in a store cupboard!
Citizen quickly realised that many florists do not want the
hassle of “another computer” in their shop to simply
print ribbons. Operators find them frustrating to use
and often take ages to ‘start and stop’ and, in
many cases, are simply apprehensive when it comes to using
a PC. The keyboard is so simple that anyone can generate
a banner in a few minutes with virtually no training.
The printer itself is a tried-and-tested machine that has been
sold for some time to many types of customer from industrial
to small office. Its robust design means that reliability
is not an issue – in fact the system is covered by a two-year
warranty and supported through Citizen’s partners in Europe.
