INNOVATIVE HIGH PERFORMANCE FEATURES AT ENTRY LEVEL PRICES WITH CITIZEN’S LATEST LABEL PRINTERS

Citizen Systems Europe, the leading manufacturer of high quality dot matrix, label and barcode printers, has introduced two new models, the CLP 521Z and 621Z, which provide Zebra® emulation plus all the features and flexibility of high performance label printers at entry level prices.  The new label printers feature a robust, all-metal construction with Citizen’s proven high lift print head mechanism ensuring exceptional levels of reliability and precision. 

In addition, the printhead on the CLP 521Z and 621Z can be raised to the vertical position allowing quick and easy cleaning, servicing and ribbon loading, while the innovative design of the media arm includes an adjustable sensor to ensure accurate and consistent printing.               

The new CLP 521Z and 621Z printers feature colour-coded operator levers for easy, quick and efficient set-up, and can be configured simply using the Vue-Print menu system specially developed by Citizen for use on all of its printers.  The printers are also supplied with industry standard Bartender software developed by Seagull Scientific. 

As opposed to the external power supply used for many competing systems that can be kicked, damaged or even simply unplugged by mistake, the new CLP 521Z and 621Z printers feature an integrated high performance internal power supply plus three internal interfaces as standard: a high-speed parallel interface (IEEE1284), a fast USB interface and an RS232C serial interface operating up to 115,000 bps, to ensure optimum connectivity.  Furthermore, networked connectivity can be enabled quickly and easily by installing an internal Ethernet card or wireless LAN card. 

The new printers also feature easy to install options of an autocutter, which is ideal for ticketing or other applications where card tags or continuous media must be cut to particular lengths, or a label peeler, which includes a sensor to check when a label has been removed before printing the next one; this is ideal for post rooms, shipping desks or even production lines where quick and precise label application is required.       

Perhaps most importantly, Citizen makes every effort to ensure that each of its printers provides low cost of ownership.  All the consumables, particularly the print heads are competitively priced, while the design of the printers ensures that servicing can be carried out quickly with, for instance, print heads and platens being replaced in less than a minute.
