Test Page

In Windows NT 4.0, you can generate a test page by right-clicking the printer's icon in the Printers folder, then choosing Properties/General/Print Test Page.

Printing Metallics and Colour

Due to the limitations of the Windows NT operating system the driver no longer receives error messages from the printer. This means that basic errors such as paper out and ribbon end have to be interpretted from the Operation Panel lights on the printer.

This becomes evident when printing metallic and colours on the same page.

The printing process for metallic and colour prints metallic colours first so your required metallic cartridges must be installed for the first pass. When the printer completes printing the metallic colours it will reverse feed the paper to the start print position and the printer will error. At this point you will need to change the metallic cartridges for the required colour cartridges. Ensure when you are removing the metallic catridges that you do not fill the empty cartridge lot at this time as a metallic cartridge still held in the head mechanism will be replaced into this slot.

To restart the printer simply close the printers front door.

Now the printer will replace the last remaining metallic cartridge into the cartridge slots on the front door. At this point the printer will error again, when the printer errors follow the procedure above and replace the final metallic cartruidge with your last remaining colour. Upon closing the front door the printer should complete it's print.

Please note although the printing of Metallic and colour is possible with this driver CITIZEN do not support the use of this option.
